  • On the occasion of International MSME Day, The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, MSME celebrated ‘Udyami Bharat-MSME Day recently.
Major Highlights
  • The event showcased the launch of various initiatives of the Ministry of MSME, dedicated towards growth and development of MSMEs such as ‘CHAMPIONS 2.0 Portal’ and ‘Mobile App for Geo-tagging of Cluster Projects and Technology Centers’
  • Ministry of MSME and SIDBI, to create a portal for ‘PM VIshwakarma KAushal Samman’ (PMVIKAS) by SIDBI.
  • Ministry of MSME and GeM, with the objective of sharing of Udyam Registration data with GeM for last mile registration of MSMEs in the Public Procurement eco-system.
Champions Portal
  • The CHAMPIONS stands here for Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.
  • It is a technology driven Control Room-Cum-Management Information System which utilises modern information and communication technology (ICT) tools.
  • In addition to ICT tools including telephone, internet and video conference, the system is enabled by Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Machine Learning.
  • It is also fully integrated on a real time basis with the Government of India’s main grievances portal Centralized Public Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and the Ministry’s other web based mechanisms.
  • The entire ICT architecture is created in house with the help of the National Informatics Centre0.
Cluster development programme
  • The MSME ministry’s cluster development programme MSE-CDP aims to strengthen capacity building for MSEs through Common Facility Center (CFC) projects and Infrastructure Development (IDs) projects.
  • Implemented since 2003, the total projects approved so far under the initiative stood at 557 including 222 projects pertaining to the setting up of CFCs and 335 projects for Infrastructure Development (ID), out of which 92 CFCs and 200 ID projects have been completed, as per data from the MSME Dashboard.
