Colombo Security Conclave

In News 

  • At the fifth NSA-level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave, a regional security grouping comprising India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius, agreed on a roadmap to bolster cooperation.
Details 

  • This five-point roadmap will primarily focus on the areas of maritime security, countering terrorism and radicalisation, cyber security and disaster relief.
  • It was finalised at a two-day summit held in the Maldives from March 9-10.
  • The member states agreed upon a roadmap for further cooperation and collaboration on these pillars of cooperation.
  • The roadmap will facilitate robust mechanisms for coordinated responses capacity building and strengthening information flow between member states.
  • Mauritius is the newest member of the conclave. Delegations from Bangladesh and Seychelles participated at the meeting as observers.
About Conclave 

  • India, the Maldives and Sri Lanka are the founding members of the Colombo Security Conclave.
  • Mauritius was included as a new member of the conclave during the meeting , which was also attended by Bangladesh and Seychelles as observers.
