‘Ganga Utsav 2021 – The River Festival’

The 5th edition of ‘Ganga Utsav 2021 – The River Festival’ was held in New Delhi from 1st to 3rd
November 2021.

Details

  • It’s being inspired by the call of PM for ‘Nadi Utsav’ e. celebrating rivers, the aim is to take Ganga Utsav to all the river basins in India.
  • The River Festival will not only celebrate the glory of the river Ganga but all the rivers of the
  • Continuous Learning and Activity Portal (CLAP) developed by NMCG in association with Tree Craze Foundation was also launched on the occasion.
  • CLAP is an initiative by Namami Gange, created and executed by TREE Craze Foundation.
  • CLAP is also funded and supported by World Bank.
  • This is an interactive portal that is working towards initiating conversations and action around the rivers in India.

Ganga Mashaal

  • The “Ganga Mashaal” has formally started its journey from Rishikesh and Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
  • The Mashaal (torch) will travel to a total of 23 stations along River Ganga which will help in sensitization of the local people and Namami Gange volunteers.
  • The contributions field volunteers like Ganga VicharManch, Ganga Dooth (NYKS), Ganga Praharis, Ganga Mitras were acknowledged and all others for their work and appealed to make Ganga Mashal a success.
