  • The 80th Golden Globe Awards were held recently in Beverly Hills, California.
About Awards
  • In the motion picture categories, Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans won for Best Motion Picture (Drama) and Banshees of Inisherin won for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
  • On the television side, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon won for Best TV Series Drama, Kevin Costner won for Best Actor – Television Series, Drama for Yellowstone, and Abbott Elementary won for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
  • Evan Peters won for Best Actor – Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie for Dahmer: Monster-The Jeffery Dahmer Story, and Amanda Seyfried won for Best Actress – Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie for The Dropout.
India's Performance
  • RRR ultimately won the award for Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu” out of the two categories it was nominated for. 
  • The film tells the story of two freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju, in British-occupied India during the 1920s, and features Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, as well as Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
  • RRR has already won a plethora of international honours, including a win for Best Director for Rajamouli at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
