Google to launch ChatGPT competitor 'Bard'

  • Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced that the tech giant will soon launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered chatbot called Bard', aimed at countering the popularity of the ChatGPT tool backed by Microsoft.
About Bard
  • It is a conversational search engine. Its working is similar to that of Chat GPT.
  • It was designed and created by Google two years ago.
  • Bard, built on Google's existing large language model LaMDA, "seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models.
  • BARD was built based on LaMDA. LaMDA stands for Language Models for dialogue applications.
  • LaMDA could mimic voices and converse with humans.
Chat GPT
  • ChatGPT is a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence that can be used to ask questions.
  • This chatbot is designed in such a way that the responses to queries are both technical and jargon-free.
  • It is a natural language processing (NLP) model that works with a large corpus of conversational data.
  • It can generate human-like responses, allowing for natural conversation between the user and the virtual assistant.
  • The chatbot employs Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) technology. It is, however, altered to appear more human-friendly.
  • It is based on GPT-3.5, a deep-learning language model that generates human-like text.
