Govt, Meta sign three-year partnership to skill 500,000 entrepreneurs

  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Education and Meta recently signed a three-year partnership to take digital skills to the grassroots, thus building talent pool capacities and seamlessly connecting students, youth, and micro-entrepreneurs across the country.
Features of the MoU
  • Meta has inked three crucial Letters of Intent (LoI) as part of this initiative.
  • These partnerships are with the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • Together, these collaborations aim to create a vast talent pool and seamlessly connect students, young individuals, and micro-entrepreneurs throughout the nation.
  • This partnership builds upon Meta’s ongoing efforts to nurture digital talent in India.
  • Meta launched the ‘Creators of Metaverse’ program in collaboration with AICTE. This initiative aims to enable 100,000 students and 20,000 educators in augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
  • Additionally, a two-year diploma course in animation is set to be introduced in AICTE-affiliated colleges, further solidifying Meta’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological expertise among India’s youth.
