International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural session of the fourth edition of the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure via video message.
About the conference 
  • Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure hosted the conference. 
  • The ICDRI, being hosted in collaboration with the United States government.
  • The initiative on ‘Infrastructure for Resilient Island States‘ that was launched at COP26 last year is a clear expression of our commitment to working with Small Island countries.
  • It was addressed by the Prime Ministers of Australia and Japan, as well as Presidents of Ghana and Madagascar.
About CDRI 
  • India led an International coalition  of countries, UN agencies, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and academic institutions.
  • Aim: To promote disaster-resilient infrastructure.
  • Headquarters: New Delhi, India (Interim Secretariat)
  • India officially launched the CDRI at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit in New York on 23 September 2019.
  • Founders: India,  Australia, Bhutan, Fiji, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Mexico, Mongolia, Rwanda, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. (13 countries).
