International Labour Day

  • Ministery of Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India on the occasion of International Labour Day organized a Health and Nutrition check-up camp was organized for Female Brick Kiln Workers and other Industrial Workers.
About ILD 
  • The day spreads awareness about workers' rights and also recognises their accomplishment.
  • Labour Day provides the Labours with the right to work for only 8 hours a day.
  • This gives labour relief from the stress and pressure from lots of activities performed in a single day.
  • In India, celebrating Labour Day was the first initiative taken by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan wherein the Comrade Malayapuram Singaravelu Chettiar, founder of the first trade union, arranged two meetings to celebrate the day.
