National KCC Conference for Fisheries,Animal Husbandry & Dairying’

  • Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala, will preside over a one-day “National Conference on KCC for Fisheries” recently.

  • The conference facilitates discussions among key stakeholders, addressing issues and devising long-term solutions to ensure the seamless flow of credit, benefiting the fisheries sector’s growth and development.
  • This conference is vital as it addresses pressing issues in the fisheries sector, focusing on the accessibility of institutional finance through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme.
  • The KCC scheme was extended to fishers and fish farmers in 2018-19 to provide working capital support. It simplifies credit delivery and financial inclusion in agriculture and fisheries sectors, playing a vital role in income generation and equitable growth.
  • It was promoted by the government through awareness campaigns and mobilization drives. This resulted in the issuance of 1.49 lakh KCCs to date.
