NDIAN AIR FORCE TO PARTICIPATE IN EXERCISE DESERT FLAG VIII

  • An Indian Air Force contingent comprising of 110 Air Warriors has arrived at Al Dhafra airbase of United Arab Emirates for participating in Exercise Desert Flag VIII.
Exercise Desert Flag VIII
  • Ex Desert Flag is an annual multinational large force employment warfare exercise hosted by the UAE Air Force.
  • Aim: To provide operational exposure to the participating forces while training them to undertake simulated air combat operations in a controlled environment.
  • It is about a three week long exercise scheduled from 3rd - 27th March 2021 at Al-Dhafra air base, UAE.
  • The objectives for the exercise were to expose coalition participating forces to large force employment, sharpen tactical capabilities, and enhance interoperability along with fostering closer relations between the participating forces.
  • The aim for the participating crew and specialist observers was to expose them to operational environment in scenarios requiring multinational forces working together.
  • Timely and seamless induction and de-induction was facilitated by IAF C-17 Globe master aircraft.
