Operation Samudra Setu II - INS Jalashwa arrives Visakhapatnam with Critical COVID Relief Consignment including Oxygen Cylinders and Ventilators from Brunei and Singapore.

Highlights
  • The COVID relief materials including Oxygen Containers and Ventilators were facilitated by the Indian Missions and the consignment are being handed over to Govt agencies in various States and NGOs.
  • INS Trikand is among the nine ships deployed for the COVID-19 relief Operation ‘Samudra Setu II’ for bringing LMO and associated medical equipment from friendly foreign countries in the Persian Gulf and southeast Asia.
  • Operation Samudra Setu-II has been launched to augment the ongoing national mission for meeting oxygen requirements following the spike in COVID-19 cases.
  • The Navy has deployed INS (Indian Navy Ships) Kolkata, Kochi, Talwar, Tabar, Trikand, Jalashwa and Airavat for shipment of oxygen-filled cryogenic containers and associated medical equipment from various countries.
