Sansad TV launched

Sansad TV is being launched after merging the Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV channels as a cerebral channel which will showcase the democratic ethos of India and the functioning of democratic institutions in our country.

Details
  • Sansad TV will target national and international audiences through the content produced around the subject of Indian constitution, polity, governance, history and culture etc.
  • Sansad TV offers opportunity for internship for young boys and girls to work as research support for various programmes being produced.
  • The interns should be highly qualified in various fields including law, economics, business management, journalism, arts, sociology, history etc. with relevant experience.
  • Preference will be given to the persons who have very high quality of writing skills with the ability of deep-dive desk research. Experience/ability/penchant for audio-visual content production and social media handling will be an added qualification.
  • Sansad TV internship programme offers a unique opportunity to young professionals to work with the Parliament and the Parliamentary institutions and get an exposure to the best minds in various sectors.
Background
  • Sansad Television is an Indian government television service which broadcasts programming of the two Houses of Indian Parliament and other public affairs programming.
  • It was formed in March 2021 by amalgamating the existing house channels, Lok Sabha TV and the Rajya Sabha TV, although separate satellite channels are broadcast for each House.
  • Provisionally the channel will have about 35 themes on which programmes will be aired, and the programmes will be similar but in two languages: English and Hindi.
