Six new Judges appointed to MP High Court

The President of India, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, appointed s
ix new judges to MP High Court.

High Court Judge appointment 
  • High Court is termed as the second-highest in the country after the Supreme Court of India. Currently, India has 25 High Courts established in different states of the country. 
  • Every High Court shall consist of a Chief Justice and such other Constitution of Judges as the President of India may from time to time appoint.
  • No appointment of any Judge of a High Court can be made unless it is in conformity with the opinion of the Chief Justice of India.
  • Article 217 of the Indian Constitution states that the Judge of a High Court shall be appointed by the President consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the Governor of the State, and, in the case of appointment of a Judge other than the Chief Justice, the Chief Justice of the High Court.
  • THERE shall be a High Court in each State [Art. 214] but Parliament The High Court of has the power to establish a common High Court for two or more States. The High Court stands at the head of the Judiciary in the State.
