The Kashmir Monitor journalist Hirra Azmat wins prestigious `Project Siren Award 2022′

  • Senior correspondent of The Kashmir Monitor Hirra Azmat has won the prestigious Project Siren Award 2022.
Hirra Azmat 
  • Kashmir journalist, Hira Azmat bagged the 2022 Project Siren Award for her story on a tie-up between IMHS and SRO in creating Kashmir’s first call centre for helping people with psychiatric issues. She works for The Kashmir Monitor.

About the award 
  • Constituted in 2020, the award is given on World Suicide Prevention Day for better reporting practices on suicide.
  • Carrying a token of Rs 10,000, a certificate and a citation, the award is being supported by Thakur Foundation.
  • The award is being given to a newspaper and journalist for the last two years.
