  • It was developed by the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
  • The NSTL, in collaboration with Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL), is responsible for designing and producing the Varunastra torpedo.
