  • World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year to promote awareness about the language across the world.
World Hindi Day
  • Theme-"Hindi – Traditional Knowledge to Artificial Intelligence".
  • The celebration of World Hindi Day dates back to 1949 when Hindi was officially recognized as the official language of India at the UNGA.
  • In 1975, the first-ever World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur, India to commemorate this achievement.
  • In 2006, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh announced that every year on January 10th, World Hindi Day would be observed.
  • This was also the first year that the Ministry of External Affairs began hosting grand celebrations of the day abroad.
  • It is an opportunity to recognize Hindi as a universal language and to raise awareness about the use of the Indian language.
  • It is also a chance to celebrate the contributions of Hindi speakers and to encourage a love for the language.
