Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited Modi to visit Bangladesh for celebrations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s Independence.

Highlights 
  • The invitation was accepted bu Indian PM 
  • This will also complete 50 years of Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations in March next year.
  • Both Prime Ministers “directed the officials to expeditiously conclude the ongoing joint study on the prospects of entering into a bilateral Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)

  • Government is committed to developing friendly and mutually beneficial relations with all its neighbours.
  • India is an active development partner and is involved in several projects in these countries.
  • India’s policy of ‘Neighbourhood First’ focuses on creating mutually beneficial, people-oriented, regional frameworks for stability and prosperity.
