  • The government has now replicated the Co-WIN platform to establish an electronic registry for routine vaccinations.
U-WIN Platform
  • It is a replica of Co-WIN.
  • Co-Win has been the backbone of India in administering COVID vaccine to the citizens.
  • The platform allows users to register for vaccination slots. It holds every detail about the user being vaccinated.
  • It also has information about the next vaccination due.
  • GoI launched the U – WIN platform based on the huge success of the Co–Win platform.
Features
  • The platform will be used to register and vaccinate each pregnant woman, record her delivery outcome, register each newborn delivery, administer birth doses, and record all subsequent vaccination events.
  • Beneficiaries would be able to schedule vaccination appointments in advance.
  • Additionally, it will permit mobility.
  • It will also hold information about antigen coverage. The antigen is a foreign substance to the human body.
  • All states and districts will be able to access a common database to track and vaccinate beneficiaries.
About UIP
  • It was first introduced in 1985, and in 1992 it was integrated into the Child Survival and Safe Motherhood Program.
  • It became a part of the National Reproductive and Child Health Programme in 1997.
  • The Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) has always been a crucial component of the National Rural Health Mission since its inception in 2005.
